This smart garage opener seems to get better and better every year. It’s one of the most popular selling openers for a reason. You can open and close the door from anywhere (pretty standard stuff these days), schedule alerts if it has been left open, and even connect the device to Google Assistant or IFTTT for $1 a month.
The Momentum Niro Wi-Fi Garage Door Controller
This baby features a 720p security camera to give you a bird’s eye view of your garage from any device. It has just about all the features you need for a reasonable price. The catch is this smart opener is far from universal. It only works with these garage door openers.
GoControl/Linear Z-Wave Garage Door Opener Remote Controller
It’s not the most inventive name in the world, but it does what it says it will do, and it does it well for the money. It also integrates well with Z-Wave smart-home devices. One catch is it doesn’t work with a standalone app, so not the best for opening and closing the door remotely. You’ll need a separate home-automation hub for it to function.
The NEXX Garage NXG-100
This one runs a little higher than most smart openers on the market, but the extra features might be worth it for some. It allows you to “authorize” people to access your door such as the delivery guy or the maintenance guy. You can also log how often the door has been used. It also supports voice commands with Alexa and Google Assistant with no monthly fee.
